ENC 0025 Developmental Writing II
Course Description
Welcome to Developmental Writing II. This course provides for the refinement of grammatical, mechanical, and usage principles and includes an overview of the strategies of paragraph and essay development. With a D or an F, a student must repeat the course. Credit for this course may not be used to meet degree requirements.
Methods of Instruction
This is a 3 credit hour course. Normally, a three credit hour course meets two times each week (during a 16 week term) for a total of 3 hours per week or 48 hours per term. In this class, we will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays, 11:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. You will engage in structured in-class and online activities. The course will include online discussions, response journals, essay writing, in-class activities, research writing, and readings. Students are responsible for regularly reviewing the course schedule and completing all required in and out of class assignments.
General Course Outcomes
- The students shall be able to demonstrate the mastery of grammatical, mechanical and usage principles.
- The students shall be able to compose paragraphs and essays and provide ideas and information suitable to the audience and purpose.
Course Requirements
- Corequisite: ENC 0025L
- Complete assignments online through BConline and in class.
- Required BC E-mail username and email address in order to access BConline and to check mail in the event that BConline is not working.
- In order to be successful in this course you should be familiar with basic keyboarding skills, basic Internet research, and file management.
- You will need your BC card to access library information.
